Now hiring a Postdoc Fellow for a Translational Bioinformatics and Cancer Systems Biology Laboratory of Dr. Aik Choon Tan (http://tanlab.ucdenver.edu), that is offered though the (Medicine) Division of Medical Oncology, at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus located in Aurora, Colorado. The successful candidate hired for this position will be talented, energetic, and a highly motivated individual to work on interesting cancer genomic projects. The research fellow will develop computational and statistical algorithms for the analysis and interpretation of cancer genomic datasets, and to develop computational tools for linking these vulnerabilities with therapeutics. The research fellow will have the opportunity to be trained by computational and experimental mentors, will be supervised by Dr. Aik Choon Tan, and he/she will have the opportunity to collaborate with cutting-edge oncology research groups at the University of Colorado Cancer Center and work on translational research projects. The position will not be involved in course instruction and is not eligible for tenure.
The individual in this position will be responsible for developing and implementing computational biology and bioinformatics methods to analyze and interpret genome-scale projects using next generation sequencing technology. Primary duties will include but will not be limited to the design and implementation of algorithms to map, annotate, integrate, organize and visualize data generated by next generation sequencing instruments, for use in downstream statistical analyses and validation.
